Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has announced a generous cash pledge to motivate the Super Eagles of Nigeria as they advance to the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Following Nigeria’s 2-0 quarter-final victory over Algeria, Rabiu praised the team for lifting the spirit of the nation with their performance and pledged financial rewards tied to their continued success in the tournament.

In a statement on his social media handles, Rabiu promised $500,000 to the players if they win the semi-final, along with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored in that match. If the Super Eagles go on to lift the AFCON trophy, he further pledged a massive $1 million, plus $100,000 for each goal scored in the final.

“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria,” Rabiu stated. “You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals.”

The business tycoon’s pledge adds to the wave of national support backing the team as they push toward a fourth continental title.

Rabiu concluded his message with encouragement: “Keep making Nigeria proud. Proudly Nigerian.”
