Nigerian singer Olawale Ashimi, popularly known as Brymo, has stirred widespread reactions online following comments many have described as misogynistic.

The Ara crooner, in a post shared on his Instagram page, argued that men should not apologise to women when the women are at fault. He went further to suggest that men who do so would face consequences.

“Nobody deserves to suffer more than men who apologise to women when the women are wrong. And suffer they will from here, and for the rest of humanity’s earthly existence,” he wrote.

The statement quickly drew mixed reactions across social media platforms, with some users criticising the singer’s stance as extreme and dismissive of the complexities of relationships, while others debated the dynamics of accountability between partners.

Brymo, known for his outspoken views, has not issued any clarification as discussions around his comments continue to trend online.
