Bukky Shonibare one of the main advocates for the #BringBackOurGirls movement has just bagged a first-class degree in law from Baze University, Abuja.

Sharing her climb into the legal profession story, Shonibare said she started as a 200level, direct entry student but had the lowest Grade Point Average(GPA) in her first year. However, she noted that she had to face reality and bounced back on her academic performance.

According to her, ” My first class law degree is dedicated to my daughter, 11 years old Oluwadamilola Shonibare, who held my hand and heart and loved me through all. For her, and every girl out there, this dream was valid and this journey is worth”.

Bukky Shonibare came to the limelight in 2014, when over 200 schoolgirls from chibok community in the Northeast, Nigeria were abducted by Book Haram members.

Since the beginning of the ‘BringBackOurGirls Movement’ , Bukky Shonibare had advanced for the return of the missing schoolgirls every single day. She has attended sit-ins at the Unity Fountain, Abuja, carried placards marking the number of days that the girls have been missing. Writing articles and calling on the government to take action.
