Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, has confirmed the team’s return to Nigeria following their extended delay in Libya.

After more than 14 hours of being stranded at Al Abraq International Airport, Boniface shared the news on his Twitter handle, saying, “Back to Nigeria 🇳🇬❤️❤️. Next of kin you try ooooo😀.”

The Super Eagles were initially stuck in Libya after the Libyan government denied their approved landing in Benghazi, leading to widespread frustration.

However, pressure from Nigerian officials, including Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), led to the eventual clearance for their departure.

Boniface’s post reflects the team’s relief, as they finally return home following the ordeal.

Fans have continued to celebrate the team’s safe arrival, with attention now shifting to the Confederation of African Football’s (CAF) response to the situation.
