Fresh updates from the Nigeria’s capital, Abuja has revealed that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has been extradited from the United Kingdom.
Kanu’s arrest was made public on Tuesday by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami who disclosed that the leader of the proscribed group was arrested and brought back into the country.
He revealed that Kanu was arrested and extradited from the UK based collaborative effort by security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol.
Kanu and other defendants were facing treasonable felony charges at the Federal High Court, Abuja before fleeing the country in September, 2017. It was after he fled the country that Federal Government obtained a court order to proscribe the IPOB as a terrorist group on September 20th, 2017.
