Breaking News! FG Set To Announce New IGP As Ibrahim Idris Bows Out
Fresh reports emanating from the Force Headquarters has it that Ibrahim Kpotum Idris mni is currently preparing himself to leave as the nation’s Inspector General of Police.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered from an Abuja source, a top Police officer in the Force HQ that the President Buhari-led Federal Government was already concluding plans to announce Idris’s replacement in the person of Abubakar Adamu Mohammed.
“We have a new police IG. Ibrahim Idris has gone home to move his things from the official quarters and we are now waiting for a formal handing over,” the source disclosed.
It was also gathered that the Presidency sources also confirmed the development in separate exchanges.
The rumoured new IGP, Mohammed, born on November 9, 1961, is from Nasarawa state and an Assistant Inspector-General of Police. He joined the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in 1986 and was once a Director of peacekeeping operations.
He once served as Police Commissioner in Enugu, Mohammed was an AIG in charge Zone 5 and is currently a directing staff member at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies,(NIPSS) Kuru, near Jos, Plateau state.
It has been confirmed that his appointment would cause the retirement of some Police Chiefs, just like it happened during the appointment of Idris.
