The Lagos State House of Assembly, on Thursday, passed the State’s Value Added Tax (VAT) with Speaker Mudashiru Obasa instructing the Acting Clerk of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko, to send a clean copy to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his assent.
The House also passed the open cattle grazing prohibition bill.
These two bills were passed based on unanimous votes by the lawmakers at the third reading sitting.
Immediately after the passage of the bills, Speaker Obasa appreciated his colleagues for their passion towards continuous state growth.
He said, “I thank you all for this historic exercise.”
Recall that the House held separate public hearings on the bills on Wednesday with stakeholders expressing support.
