Breaking! INEC may postpone Presidential and National Assembly elections
Unconfirmed information reaching BlackBox Nigeria has it that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC might announce the postponement of tomorrow’s polls.
Elections are expected to hold for the presidency and National Assembly but BlackBox Nigeria was informed that there might be a rescheduling.
A BBN correspondent that visited the Lagos headquarters of the commission on Friday learnt that over 60% of the necessary sensitive materials were yet to be delivered. Many of the Local Government electoral officers (EO) were also seen looking confused.
An insider who spoke to BlackBox Nigeria reveals that “with what is on ground, I think we won’t be able to go on with the elections as scheduled”.

There are however talks in some corners that the elections might be rescheduled to a day in the coming week. This was however discredited by our source who said it is unheard of for Nigeria’s general election to hold on a weekday.
To corroborate this developing story, BlackBox Nigeria has further learnt that INEC chairman, Professor Yakubu has called for an emergency meeting of the commissioners and other stakeholders to discuss the implication of the postponement.
More details soon.
