Former US Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 99.
According to a statement released by the Carter Office, the iconic politician died on Tuesday, July 23, at 01:34 a.m. at his home in Plains, Georgia.
Carter was the 39th President of the United States serving from January 20, 1977 until January 20, 1981.
His administration achieved significant foreign policy milestones, including the Panama Canal treaties, the Camp David Accords between Egypt and Israel, and the establishment of diplomatic relations with China.
A recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002, Carter was recognized for his lifelong dedication to peaceful conflict resolution, democracy advancement, and socioeconomic development.
