According to information reaching us, the highly rated university was shut down and sealed by the authorities of the Osun Internal Revenue Services over unpaid taxes.
BBN360 learnt that the University named after late Yoruba nationalist, Obafemi Awolowo was owing unremitted taxes and developmental levy accounting up to about N1.8billion under the Pay As You Earn Policy.
The OIRS team led by a certain Oladipo Babatunde arrived OAU around 7am this morning and sealed the University’s Administrative building, Senate Chambers and the main gate of the institution. The action it was learnt was as a result of the university’s refusal to meet up with payment modalities.
