A former deputy CEO of Celtel, Boye Olusanya has been named as the new Chief Executive Officer of telco firm, Etisalat.
BBN gathered that the Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Okwu Joseph Nnanna was also appointed as the new Chairman of the company.
Boye Olusanya was formerly the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Celtel Nigeria. He was a pioneer staff of Vee Networks at inception in February 2001.
The new Etisalat boss holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, with an M. Sc in Environmental Civil Engineering from Liverpool University and another Masters in Computer Science from Manchester University.
Dr O.J. Nnanna is currently the CBN Deputy Governor in charge of Financial System Stability and also overseeing the Economic Policy Directorate of CBN. He takes over from the former Chairman, Keem Bello-Osagie who resigned at the heat of the Etisalat financial mess.
BlackBox Nigeria further learnt that Nigerian billionaire businessman and Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote might be on his way to taking over Etisalat. Checks showed that Boye Olusanya prior to his new appointment was the Managing Director of Dancom Technologies owned by Dangote.
Asides this, Etisalat new Chief Financial Officer is Funke Ighodaro who was previously the former CFO and Executive Director of Tiger Branded Consumer Goods Company (formerly Dangote Flour Mills).
