Prominent Lagos-based Lawyer, Festus Keyamo, owner of Festus Keyamo Chambers was alongside 29 others approved to the status of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the highest cadre of practicing Legal Practitioners.
The approval was confirmed by the Nigeria Judicial Council. Also among the 29 was the Director General of Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies Professor Adedeji Adekunle, Attorney-General of Kwara State, Mr Lamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade and a former DG of the National Copyrights Commission, Professor Adebambo Adewopo.
Six out of the 26 remaining new SANs were academics while others were practicing lawyers.
NJC Approves 30 Lawyers As SANs
Thirty candidates have been approved as Senior Advocates of Nigeria.
One hundred and fifty-six lawyers applied, 72 were shortlisted and only 30 were approved by the NJC.
