The Federal High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has granted bail to the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele.
Justice Hamza Muazu, presiding over the case, ruled on Wednesday that Emefiele be released on bail with a monetary bond set at N300 million.
The conditions for the bail include the provision of two sureties, both required to possess landed property within the Maitama District of the FCT.
Emefiele is mandated to surrender all his travel documents to the court registrar and must confine himself within the Abuja Municipal Council.
The decision comes as part of the conditions for his bail, with Emefiele expected to stay at the Kuje Correctional Centre until these conditions are met.
Emefiele was notably absent during the Wednesday morning ruling on his bail application.
