Adebola Akin-Bright, the 12-year-old boy who had a missing intestine, has sadly passed away at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) .
The Lagos State House of Assembly had recently called on Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to direct the Ministry of Health to release funds for the overseas treatment of Adebola Akin-Bright .
However, despite the assembly’s appeal, the boy’s life could not be saved.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State had visited Adebola and pledged to cover his medical care and expenses .
The boy’s mother had pleaded with the Governor to investigate the disappearance of her son’s small intestines, which she claimed occurred while he was receiving treatment at LASUTH . The hospital management, however, denied the allegation .
Governor Sanwo-Olu took over the medical care of Adebola Akin-Bright on September 3 .
He made the promise during an unscheduled visit to Adebola and his mother at the Pediatric Ward of LASUTH . The governor pledged to pull all medical expertise from LASUTH and other resources to save the boy’s life .
