Biker Carnival: Seven Dead, 29 Injured in Calabar Carnival

Calabar carnival turns bloody as seven persons confirmed dead and many other injured.
Tragedy struck after a car rammed into the crowd following the flag-off of the Bikers/Exotic Cars Parade, which is part of the events leading up to Wednesday’s Carnival in Calabar.
The driver of the vehicle who was taking part in the event on Tuesday, December 27, lost control of the vehicle and rammed into spectators at the Bogobiri axis of the carnival route.
Graphic videos from the scene show bodies lying on the road with blood flowing.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) commander, Maikano Hassan, confirmed the sad incidence.
He said that the incident occurred in front of the Jumat Mosque in Bogobiri in the capital city of Cross River during the Bikers Carnival activity of the carnival.
Hassan listed the number of injured to include 21 male adults, three women, two male children and three female children.
