Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has been released from the custody of the Nigerian Army.
This comes a day after he was arrested for putting on an outfit with semblance to the Biafran flag.
According to The PUNCH, Agu’s colleague, Emeka Ike posted a video on his Instagram page, announcing his release, on Friday.
Recall that soldiers on Thursday arrested the actor around Upper Iweka Bridge in Onitsha for wearing an outfit with Biafra inscriptions.
Agu, who was on a charity mission before his arrest, was later taken in custody for questioning.
In a statement, the Nigerian Army stated that the actor was arrested “while inciting members of the public and soliciting for support for the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra”.
The action of the military had attracted criticisms from several Nigerians who condemned the actor’s arrest.
