Funminiyi Afuye, Speaker of the House of Assembly, Ekiti state passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022.
Afuye died as a result of cardiac arrest earlier yesterday.
Beyond being a politician, these are facts about the honourable speaker, Funminiyi Afuye.
1.Funminiyi Afuye was brought to the world on 11 July 1956 and died on 19 October 2022.
2. Afuye was a professional lawyer and also a politician.
3. He was the commissioner of Ekiti State Ministry of Information and a two-time member of the Ekiti State Assembly representing Ikere constituency.
4. Afuye attained office of the speaker of House of Assembly on 6 June 2019 till his death while his deputy is Hakeem Jamiu.
5. Afuye also worked as Ekiti State Commissioner of Information in 2011-2014 while Kayode Fayemi is the governor.
6. The late Speaker was the commissioner of Integration and Intergovernmental Affairs in 2011 to 2014.
7. Afuye was also a member of Ekiti State House of Assembly in Ikere Constituency I 2019 till his death.
8. He is from Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti state.
