Honourable Babajimi Adegoke Benson, member of the House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in Lagos State, has promised to initiate the construction of the long-awaited Ita Oluwo/Agbede Road
At the commissioning of the newly constructed Asolo/Agbede Olunla Road in Ikorodu West, Lagos State. The 4.5 km road, facilitated by Hon. Babajimi Jimi Benson, was commissioned by Oba Kabiru Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, on October 26th.
In his address, Hon. Benson expressed heartfelt gratitude to the communities of Olunla and Agbede, stating, “I commend the 9 communities that make up the Agbede CDA because you people really stood by me. Agbede is special because you gave us the highest vote for me to get into this position.”
He assured the residents, “You asked for the Ita Oluwo/Agbede road, and now it’s done. By June next year, we will come back to commission the road.”he affirmed
Hon. Benson emphasized, “Agbede delivered the highest vote in Ikorodu division, and we will repay that trust by fulfilling your primary requests.” He pledged to address additional infrastructure needs in the area, affirming, “Your prayers must be heard; that is the beauty of democracy.”
Alhaji Rasheed Husain Adebola, Joint CDA Chairman, echoed the sentiments of gratitude, remarking, “Agbede comprises 9 communities across two LCDA’s, and today’s commissioning marks a pivotal moment for us. Despite the challenges we faced along the way, we are thankful that the road is now completed.”
In a gesture of appreciation, the Agbede community honored Hon. Jimi Benson with a symbolic gift of a horse.
The royal fathers present at the commissioning included Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, and Sekumade of Ipakodo, Bashir Shotomiwa.
Also in attendance were guests such as Ayodele Elesho, former Commissioner of Information in Lagos State; Otunba Kazeem Olanrewaju Suleiman, Chairman of Ikorodu West; Nurudeen Agbaje, Special Adviser to the Governor on Rural Development; and Prince Jamiu Adio Saka, Apex Leader of Ikorodu West, among others.
