BBN Sports: SPANISH LA LIGA WEEK TWO PREVIEW
6
DEPORTIVO ALAVES VS BARCELONA
Barcelona have won 13 and drawn two of the previous 19 meetings between these two sides, coming out on top 6-0 in the most recent league encounter at Mendizorroza just over seven months ago.
The misplaced trio of Suarez, Neymar and Messi were all on target for Barca that day, but only after finally breaking down their opponents in the 36th minute after a tight start to the game.
It is however worthy of note that Alaves came out with a shocking upset at the very start of the season when they pulled out a 1-2 win at Camp Nou.
Lionel Messi’s 350th La Liga goal proved elusive as he hit the woodwork three times in Barcelona’s 2-0 victory over Real Betis to kick start their title hunt on an emotional night in Catalonia.
Banking on Alaves to bag all 3 points against the wounded catalans may be asking for too much but when you think again and remember that they shocked the footballing world with their victory at the Camp Nou last season, you wouldn’t want to rule them out.
