Veteran Nollywood actor Femi Branch, widely known for his role in the epic series Bashorun Gaa, has been publicly called out over an alleged unpaid debt dating back to 2011, which is now said to have rise up to N9.7 million.
The allegation was made by Pastor Timilehin Adigun, who claimed via social media that the actor borrowed money from his father over a decade ago and has since defaulted on the agreed repayment terms.
According to screenshots shared by Pastor Timilehin, Femi Branch reportedly agreed to pay N50,000 monthly as interest on the loan, but allegedly failed to keep to the arrangement.
Over time, with the accrued unpaid interest, the loan has allegedly grown to nearly 10 million.
“Femi Branch is owing my dad. He was supposed to pay N50k monthly interest and hasn’t. As of now, the money has reached N9.7m,” Timilehin wrote in a now-viral post.
While full details of the original loan agreement remain unclear, the public dragging has stirred mixed reactions online, especially given Femi Branch’s status as a respected figure in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
As of press time, Femi Branch has not issued any public response to the allegation.
The actor, best known for his commanding roles in Yoruba films and television, is yet to confirm or deny the claims.
