Spanish giants FC Barcelona have won their first La Liga game, following the exit of Lionel Messi who joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
In their league opener on Sunday night, the Blaugrana defeated Real Sociedad 4-2 in the presence of over 20,000 fans at the Camp Nou.
A brilliant header from Gerard Pique in the 19th minute from Memphis Depay’s free-kick, gave them the lead.
Martin Braithwaite, arguably the best player on the pitch, would later net two goals in first half injury time and in the 59th minute.
La Real pulled one back in the 82nd minute when Julen Lobete scored, with Mikel Oyarzabal scoring a sensational free-kick three minutes later to make it 3-2.
Barça’s fourth goal came from Sergi Roberto in the last minute of the game after an assist from Braithwaite.
