The Ayangbure of Ikorodu, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi joined other major traditional rulers from across the country at a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday.
BlackBox Nigeria gathered that fuel subsidy, insecurity, job creation among others were the focal points of discussion during the meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Meeting with the President under the aegis of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN), the royal fathers congratulated the President on his emergence while further discussing issues that would help move the country forward.
Led by the Chairman of the NCTRN, the Sultan of Sokoto; Alhaji Muhammad Saad Abubakar and Co-Chairman, Ooni of Ife; Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, the monarchs comprising of all major traditional rulers from the six geo-political zones in Nigeria pledged to support President Tinubu to ensure that the country moves forward.
The Ooni of Ife particular impressed on the President to engage the traditional rulers to curb insecurity while revealing that the monarchs were the closest to the people.
Also on the train with the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, who is the Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Council of Obas, were other Lagos monarchs including the Oniru of Iru, Elegushi of Ikate amongst others.
