Eight-year-old American singer Aura Valentina Simmons, popularly known as Aura V, has etched her name into Grammy history after becoming the youngest individually credited winner at the 2026 Grammy Awards.

Aura V achieved the milestone at the 68th Grammy Awards, held on February 1, 2026, in Los Angeles, where she won Best Children’s Music Album alongside her father, Harold Simmons II, professionally known as Fyütch for their collaborative project Harmony. The father-daughter duo triumphed over other nominees in the category, marking a major moment for children’s music on one of the world’s biggest music stages.

At just eight years and seven months old, Aura V broke the previous record held by Blue Ivy Carter, daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who won a Grammy at age nine in 2021. The new record has since been recognized by Guinness World Records, officially naming Aura V the youngest individually credited Grammy winner in history.

Speaking backstage after the win, Aura described the experience as “fun,” highlighting the joy of working closely with her father on the album. During their acceptance speech, Fyütch emphasized the importance of children’s music, describing it as a tool for education, empowerment and positive social values. Aura, lifted to the microphone because of her height, thanked the Recording Academy and expressed surprise at how far their project had gone.

The album Harmony blends hip-hop, jazz and affirmations aimed at young listeners and families, and has been praised for its educational themes and multi-generational collaboration. Beyond the historic win, the moment was widely celebrated online as a symbol of how nurturing young talent can lead to extraordinary achievements.

Aura V’s Grammy victory adds to the list of record-breaking moments at the 2026 awards and signals a growing recognition of children’s music within the global music industry.
