By Former Nigerian Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
This was disclosed by his media aide, Paul Ibe.
Atiku, who was the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party at the 2019 general polls, received the vaccine in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on Wednesday.
Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine has been approved by several countries including the United States and the United Kingdom.
According to Ibe, “The importance of the #COVID19 vaccine in mitigating the effect of the coronavirus cannot be overstated, particularly in Africa and Nigeria. Yesterday (Wednesday), as part of the mass vaccination programme, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar received the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.”
“He (Atiku) is anxiously looking forward to when Nigerians, especially medical professionals in the frontline and the most vulnerable will be vaccinated in the country,” he added.
