Atebo Yusuf Owolewa, also known as Ayo Nbo, an aspirant for the local government chairman position in Ikorodu for the 2025 election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) political party, has outlined his ambitious plans during a recent campaign event at the Ikorodu Club in Aga, Ikorodu .
Addressing supporters, Atebo proposed innovative strategies to improve local health centers, educational facilities and security in Ikorodu LGA. “We can utilize retired matrons to staff our health centers, leveraging their experience to compensate for the inadequate facilities and medical staff,” Atebo stated. He highlighted the need to eliminate charges for markers and grass cutting fees in public primary schools, emphasizing his commitment to enhancing education for the 10,099 pupils across 16 primary schools in Ikorodu by prioritising spending on education. Additionally, Atebo pledged to establish specialized departments, including IT and home economics centers, aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for local pupils.
While Speaking to BlackBox Nigeria, Atebo noted that no meaning development can take place in an environment that is not adequately secured, stating that he would bring new sense of cautiousness through broad based partnership to ensure the community is secured.
Born in the 1980s to the family of Alhaji Abdulazeez Atebo in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Atebo has distinguished himself as a skilled administrator, brand expert, and agricultural enthusiast. His educational journey began at Ijomu Muslim Primary School and continued to Yewa Grammar School in Aga, Ikorodu. Atebo holds a National Certificate in Islamic Education and Political Science from Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education (now Lagos State University of Education, LASUED) and he has completed his MSc at Northumbria University London. Atebo remains dedicated to grassroots initiatives aimed at sustainable development.
Atebo’s platform prioritizes education, security, agriculture, tourism, road infrastructure, women and youth empowerment, health, and sports. He plans to leverage data-driven strategies and partnerships with local and international stakeholders to achieve these goals.
“As we progress, Ikorodu’s cultural and natural heritage sites, including Awofin, Ile Osingbagba, and Atewojayesimi, will be preserved and promoted,” Atebo affirmed, highlighting his commitment to cultural preservation and tourism development.
