Atebo Yusuf Owolewa, popularly known with his campaign name as Ayo Nbo, has officially been cleared by the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to participate in the forthcoming Ikorodu Central Local Government chairmanship primary election.
According to the APC screening result sheet for the 2025 local government elections, Owolewa, aged 40, successfully passed the party’s internal vetting process with a performance score of 80%, earning him a CLEARED status.
His name appears fourth on the list of 15 aspirants who qualified for the primary, all of whom met the party’s criteria for competence, party loyalty, and administrative capability.
The screening, conducted by a panel chaired by Hon. Babatunde Ogala (SAN, OFR), with Nurudeen Bamidele serving as Secretary saw all the 15 candidates cleared without anybody disqualified or unsuccessful.
The process took place under the supervision of the Lagos APC leadership as part of its preparations for the upcoming grassroots elections.
BlackBox Nigeria recalls that Ayo Nbo, who has gained local prominence for his community engagement and youth empowerment efforts in Ikorodu, is considered a strong contender in the race for the chairmanship seat.
His successful clearance signals a green light to begin full-scale mobilization ahead of the primaries.
Political observers in the area say the race in Ikorodu Central is heating up, with all 15 aspirants cleared and no disqualifications or unsuccessful candidates recorded.
The APC primaries are expected to hold on May 10, 2025 at the party secretariat located at Acme Road, Ikeja, Lagos State.
The recent development signals as part of the broader exercise leading up to the 2025 local government elections in Lagos State.
