The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has defiled the heavy rain to bring activities at the Murtala Muhammed Airport to a halt in protest over the lingering ASUU strike.

This has caused heavy traffic as the students gathered amidst security presence and are seen dancing around as they sing solidarity songs.

The students opined that the APC government has failed and called on the Federal Government to accede to ASUU’s demands to revitalize the decrepit public University and improve staff welfare.

Recall that the NANS president, Comrade Usman Umar Barambu earlier declared on Sunday, its intention of blocking Lagos airport as ASUU strike persists.

In a short interview, with the NANS PRO, Giwa Yisa Topnotch revealed that they are still solidarizing as many Nigerian Students have trooped out to exercise their right to freedom of speech and expression.

“When we started in the morning we blocked the international airport but now we have moved to the local airport as all roads are blocked and our aim is to put an end to this delay in the educational sector”.

Giwa added that securities are present with the protesters to maintain orderliness as they hope their aims are fulfilled at the end of the struggle.
