Abubabakr Olatunji Asoro, a chartered arbitrator and youth development advocate, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Secretary General of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN).
In his declaration of intent shared via social media, Asoro highlighted the critical role of the secretariat in ensuring administrative efficiency within the council.
Describing the secretariat as “the backbone of administrative efficiency” and the “unsung hero” of day-to-day operations, he said his aspiration is driven by a commitment to strengthen the council’s internal systems and give every young voice a place at the table.
“As an aspirant for this position, I will craft clarity from complexity, synchronize our efforts with precision, and uphold every voice on the path to our shared success,” Asoro stated.
He pledged to bring structure, accountability, and coordination to the operations of the NYCN if elected, positioning the secretariat as a hub for innovation and national youth engagement.
As the NYCN prepares for its next round of leadership elections, Asoro’s announcement has drawn attention within youth advocacy circles.
His campaign promises reflect a growing demand for transparent and responsive leadership in Nigeria’s youth-focused institutions.
