By The Association of Students’ Communicators, ASCOM in Mass Communication, The Polytechnic, Ibadan is set to hold an educational programme tagged “ INTEGRITY : A Sin Qua Non to Journalism Profession; that will come up on Wednesday 18th August, 2016 at Sewage hall 3 of the institution.
ASCOM, in a statement released by the Public Relation Officer of the association, Comrade Okanlawon Waliyu Taiwo, called on all Ascomites to attend the educative programme organized for them.
According to him, “The above Association of Student Communicators (ASCOM) hereby invites all Ascomites to her Maiden Edition of a life building Lecture.”
The statement furthered said, “The crave to positively influence the world with mass communication has called for the need to equip students of this profession with adequate knowledge and experience to perform excellently well in their choice of field.”
Meanwhile, the association said the guest lecturer of the event is Barrister Anthony Jibola Adeyemo, a retired Senior Principal Lecturer in the Mass Communication Department, MA in Journalism, University of Ghana, Legon.
“We are expecting Chief Adebayo Akande, The founding Chairman of SplashFm FM and Lagelu FM as the Chairman of the day, while our special guest is Tunde Olawuwo, ASCOM Alumni (News Editor, Splash FM),” the statement said.
However, the president of association Comrade Ahmed Adekunle Ajibola, also reiterated that the orientation program that was expected to hold in the first semester of 2015/2016 academic session has been substituted for the symposium.
