Ahmed Ololade popularly known as Asake, a Nigerian singer and songwriter signed to YBNL Nation and Empire Distribution, has unveiled his third studio album, “Lungu Boy.”
This album comes after the release of his previous “work of art in 2023”.
“Lungu Boy” comprises 15 tracks featuring collaborations with artists such as Wizkid, Travis Scott, Stormzy, Central Cee, and LUDMILLA. The album opens with the track “Start” and includes songs like “MMS” with Wizkid, “Active” featuring Travis Scott, “Suru” with Stormzy, and “Whine” featuring LUDMILLA, Mood, My Heart, Worldwide, Skating, Mentally, Uhh Yeah, I Swear, Ligali and Fuji Vibe
Asake pays homage to Nigerian music influences by sampling Adewale Ayuba’s verse on Jazzman Olofin’s ‘Raise Da Roof’ and Asa’s ‘Eye Adaba’.
Asake came into limelight after dropping ‘Omo Ope’ which featured his label boss Olamide. He soon became a household name with tracks like Sungba and Terminator.
‘Lungu Boy’ is his third album following chart toppers; ‘Mr Money with the Vibes’ released in 2022 and ‘Work of Art’ released in 2023. He also previously dropped a mixtape, ‘Ololade Mr Money’ dropped in February 2022.
Alongside Olamide, he went head to head with Burna Boy and Davido for the Best African Music Performance at the 66th Grammy Awards which was won by South African act, Tyla.
