Arise TV, a Nigerian television channel is under fire for broadcasting a video that mixed footage from Igbo cultural events with scenes from the Ojude Oba Festival while reporting on the viral festival.

Many people have reacted strongly, calling it an act of incompetence and bias, with some alleging that it was intentional due to the channel being Igbo-owned.

One user commented, “It’s intentional and deliberate. You can’t air anything on any TV station without it being edited. The editor and Editor-in-Chief would have reviewed it. That’s the practice worldwide.”

Another user questioned, “How could Arise TV do this? They didn’t have their own video and substituted another cultural heritage for Ojude Oba?”

Arojinle added, “No, no, no… this is extremely unprofessional and irresponsible, Arise TV. This is completely unacceptable.”
