According to him, the teachings of Ramadan encourage humility, generosity and unity, which are also vital principles required for effective leadership and nation-building.
Abiru also commended members of the Arewa community for their contributions to the development and prosperity of Lagos State.
The senator used the opportunity to highlight the policy direction of the Federal Government under President Tinubu, noting that the Renewed Hope Agenda has helped stabilise the economy, expand infrastructure and create new opportunities for Nigerians.
He acknowledged that the ongoing economic reforms may pose temporary challenges but maintained that they are necessary steps towards building a resilient economy capable of delivering long-term benefits for citizens.
Chairman of Mile 12 International Market and Director-General, South West Arewa Community Renewed Hope Agenda for Asiwaju 2027, Alhaji Shehu Usman Jibrin (Sampam), expressed appreciation to the senator for organising the Ramadan lecture and maintaining engagement with the Arewa community.
He described Abiru as a leader who recognises the importance of inclusiveness and respects the diversity of his constituents.
Islamic scholars at the event, led by the Chief Imam of Mile 12 International Market, Sheikh Muhammed Abubakar, delivered sermons on the moral lessons of Ramadan, urging Muslims to uphold values of patience, generosity and integrity in their daily lives.
The scholars emphasised that ethical values such as justice, fairness and compassion remain the foundation of good leadership and responsible citizenship.
