Apprehension about the whereabouts of the Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai was fueled yesterday as the governor and outgoing deputy, Arch Barnabas were conspicuously absent at the inauguration of the Kaduna State Transition Committee.

The event chaired by the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr. Hadiza Balarebe held at the Council Chamber in the Kaduna State Government House giving reasons to doubt the current state of the state governor and make members of the public to wonder why the governor will be absent at an event of such importance.

Rumour in the public domain has it that the governor was involved in a ghastly motor accident on his way to Kano last week which saw his driver dead and that the state government has decided to keep it a secret and has contributed to the recent absence of the governor I public gathering.

According to the Global Campaigners 4Good Governance yesterday on its Facebook wall wrote that Dubai in the United Arab Emirates had rejected the governor due to his severe spinal cord injury and has transferred him o India for intensive care.

However, the Kaduna State Government is yet to debunk or react to any of these claims making the rounds on social media.
