APC shifts House of Assembly primary in Lagos

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the primary election for the State House of Assembly seats in Lagos State.

The primary election was initially scheduled to hold at designated venues across the state on Thursday, alongside the gubernatorial primary.

BlackBox Nigeria had reported that some APC members in Ikorodu Constituency I expressed their displeasure with the delay in the commencement of the election.

However, it was gathered that the ruling party has shifted the exercise to Friday, May 27, citing logistical issues.

The election is billed to commence from 10am at the same publicized venues across the 20 local governments in the state. The primary for House of Representatives will also hold immediately thereafter on the same day.

Meanwhile, Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has emerged winner of the governorship primary election after polling 1,170 votes to beat his two challengers — a former Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Wale Oluwo, and a former Permanent Secretary, Abdul-Ahmed Olorunfemi Mustapha.
