Grammy-winning Beninese music icon, Angelique Kidjo is set to make history as the first African artist to receive a star on the prestigious Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce recently unveiled its 2026 list of honorees, naming Kidjo among an elite group of global entertainers selected for their outstanding contributions to the entertainment industry.
Known for her powerful voice, musical style, and activism, the Beninese Icon, Kidjo joins a lineup that includes American pop sensation Miley Cyrus, acclaimed French-American actor Timothée Chalamet, and NBA legend-turned-analyst Shaquille O’Neal.
Other international stars on the 2026 list include Filipino singer and Broadway icon Lea Salonga, French actress Marion Cotillard, Indian film star Deepika Padukone, British actress Emily Blunt, and Canadian actress Rachel McAdams.
While specific dates for the star ceremonies have yet to be confirmed, the Hollywood Chamber stated that each honoree has up to two years to schedule their induction.
Angelique Kidjo, a five-time Grammy Award winner, has long been celebrated for her impact on world music and advocacy for African culture and humanitarian causes.
