The Ondo State Security Network Agency, popularly known as the Amotekun Corps, has uncovered an organ harvesting and child trafficking ring operating out of Akure.

In a swift operation, the Corps rescued a kidnapped young boy, Eriponmile, from the grip of the syndicate and arrested several suspects believed to be part of a long-running human trafficking network.

The boy, who was abducted from the Davog area of Ijoka, Akure, was rescued within 48 hours thanks to the coordinated efforts of the security outfit, according to the Ondo State Commander of Amotekun, Akogun Adetunji Adeleye.

“We received a distress call that Eriponmile had been kidnapped. Within 48 hours, our intelligence indicated he had been taken outside the state,” Adeleye said during a press briefing.

“We deployed plainclothes operatives and, by the grace of God, we were able to trace him to a hospital in the eastern part of the country, where he had been declared medically fit to be harvested.”

The boy was safely returned to Ondo State and reunited with his parents.

The arrest of key suspects in the syndicate identified as Amaka, Ifeanyi, Adaeze, Etose, Omolara, and others still at large revealed the horrifying scale and nature of the operation.

The group’s activities reportedly involved abducting children for ritual purposes and illegal organ harvesting.

One of the suspects, 20-year-old Adaeze Kenneth, who identified herself as the daughter of the alleged ringleader Amaka Ngozi, provided an account of the operation.

“There was a lady who didn’t want her baby, and my mother took the baby to Anambra State,” she confessed.

“When she returned, they rented an apartment. Since then, I’ve distanced myself because she once asked me to follow her on a trip and I refused.”

Commander Adeleye confirmed that the case is part of a broader investigation into child trafficking and ritual crimes in the region.

“This isn’t the first time this group has committed such atrocities,” he said.

“They’ve been involved in multiple kidnappings and ritualistic practices targeting vulnerable children.”

The Amotekun Corps has pledged to continue its crackdown on criminal syndicates operating in Ondo State and called on residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
