For simply ‘disrespecting’ Mrs Bolanle Ambode, Venerable Femi Taiwo has been sacked and subsequently ejected from his official residence, BlackBox Nigeria learnt.
Until his removal, Venerable Taiwo was the Chaplain of the Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa (State owned).
The church is under the Lagos State Ministry of Home Affairs and being supervised by the Office of the First Lady.
According to a report by Punch, trouble started for the revered leader of the church when an anointing service in the church failed to give preferences to dignitaries present at the service on Sunday, May 14th, 2017.
It was reported that wife of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, Mrs Bolanle was ably present at the Sunday service with her friends who were among her entourage but they were supposedly ‘ignored’ as they were left to queue up like every other members present.
After waiting patiently for her turn and not forthcoming soon, Mrs Bolanle was alleged to have moved forward for the anointing which was being conducted by three persons, including the sacked Chaplain.
After receiving the anointing, it was reported that she stormed out of the church, visibly angry at what just happened. Some women leaders were said to have rushed after her to pacify her over the incident but they were not given audience as she left immediately.
The next development was a sack letter sent to the Chaplain the following day, Monday, May 15th.
He was subsequently ejected from the vicarage which housed himself, wife and two sons.
Prior to his ejection, it was learnt that some unnamed church leaders made attempts to plead with Mrs Bolanle for the ‘shortcomings’ of the church led by the Chaplain, but all proved abortive.
As Venerable Taiwo was packing out of the official residence, some church members were said to have immediately rallied round to make tangible contributions which included kitchen and home equipment.
