By Ambode Is Only Assisting Ajide To Get Treatment Abroad, Not Involved In Surulere Politics- Governor’s Aide Reveals
An aide to Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has debunked his principal’s involvement in Surulere politics as he revealed that the State Executive is only preparing Hon Tajudeen Ajide for medical treatment abroad. This is coming a day after Alausa was reported to have halted a resolution by power brokers in the Council.
In a statement released in Laos on Thursday morning, Engineer Adekunle Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Matters stated that the State Government is only assisting the Surulere Local Government Chairman get treatment abroad.
It will be recalled that reports on Wednesday had it that forces in Alausa halted a move to unseat ailing Ajide who has been battling with unknown illness since he was sworn into office. A situation that has made his Vice Chairman, Sulaimon Yusuf to perfect plans to replace the sick leader.
According to Engr Olayinka, “There is no plot at all. The Governor decided out of the kindness of his heart to help Ajide to treat himself by assisting him abroad for medical treatment.”

He further disclosed that the gesture has been agreed by the ailing Council boss and his Vice will handle matters on his behalf.
“Hon Tajudeen Ajide agreed and the Vice has promised to hold fort until he returns. I don’t think this gesture is unusual considering the humaness of His Excellency.
