Akeem Lawal sentenced to death by hanging 

A Nigerian criminal, Akeem Lawal has been condemned to die by hanging by a Lagos State High Court sitting in Igbosere. 

Akeem Lawal was found guilty on two count charges of conspiracy to rob and armed robbery after leading a gang of three to attack his stepmother and stepsister.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that the daredevil criminals had on November 30, 2013 at midnight attacked the victims who were residents at 12 Lawal Street, Akowonjo, Egbeda, Lagos. 

Akeem Lawal forcefully opened the door to the house with an axe afterwhich he shot his stepmother, Taibat Lawal and stepsister, Sherifat Olanipekun and robbing them of their possessions.

A father of one, Akeem Lawal was found guilty by Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye who sentenced him death. 

In his judgement on Monday, Justice Ipaye declared that, “I find you (Lawal) guilty as charged on count one of conspiracy to rob and on count two of armed robbery as charged in the amended charge.

“May the Lord God have mercy on your soul.”
