Air Peace Owner, Onyema Volunteers To Evacuate Nigerians From South Africa
Following the recent uprising and unrest in South Africa that has affected foreign nationals, including Nigerians the management of Air Peace has announced it’s readiness to start an evacuation process for stranded Nigerians ready to come back home.
This development was announced by Ferdinand Nwonye, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja where he disclosed that Chief Allen Onyema, Proprietor of Air Peace Airlines has volunteered to send aircraft in order to airlift embattled Nigerians who wish to return to the country.
He added that the evacuation process will kick off on Friday, September 6th and advised that Nigerians should inform their relatives in South Africa so they can liaise with the authorities such as the Nigeria High Commission in Pretoria and Consulate General in Johannesburg.
In response to the recent attacks, the Nigerian government-led by President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a special envoy to the South African President, recalled the Nigerian High Commissioner to South Africa and also withdrew from the ongoing World Economic Forum holding in South Africa.
