Afrobeats superstar Davido has struck gold after winning a $25,000 bet on Nigeria’s opening match at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 against Tanzania, BlackBox Nigeria has confirmed.
The singer predicted that both teams would score in the game, a wager that earned him a whopping $96,564 (about N140 million) payout.
Sharing a snapshot of his winning betting slip on his social media page, Davido’s confidence in the Super Eagles paid off as Nigeria triumphed 2-1.
BlackBox Nigeria earlier reported that this isn’t the first time Davido has placed a significant bet on the team, having previously wagered $10,000 on Nigeria’s World Cup playoff match against Gabon, though that one ended in defeat.
Davido’s win has sparked excitement among fans and highlighted his unwavering support for the national team as they chase their fourth AFCON title.
The victory and Davido’s betting success add to the growing buzz around Nigeria’s campaign in Morocco.
