Nigerian music star Adekunle Gold has officially announced the release of his highly anticipated sixth studio album, Fuji, scheduled to drop on October 3, 2025.

In a statement shared via his social media pages, the award-winning artist described the album as a cultural milestone and a celebration of Lagos street royalty. He explained that the album title pays homage to Fuji, the Yoruba-born genre that has shaped much of Nigeria’s contemporary soundscape.

“I named this album after an entire genre because Fuji is bigger than music. It is Lagos, it’s street royalty, it’s our story, our hustle, our heritage turned global. What we see as everyday life in Nigeria deserves to sit on the world’s biggest stages,” Adekunle Gold said.

The artist also highlighted the symbolism behind the album’s cover art, which features him seated on a chair commonly seen at Lagos parties, reimagined as a throne. “The blue behind me is royal, the red on me is power, and the word ‘Fuji’ holds the story of where we come from. This is not nostalgia, this is reinvention,” he added.

Adekunle Gold’s announcement has been met with excitement across social media, with fans and music critics praising his commitment to honoring Nigerian heritage while continuing to push sonic boundaries.
