Award winning Afrobeats Star, Adekunle Gold has hinted at a possible first-ever collaboration with mentor and Former boss, Olamide, setting off excitement among fans.
The artiste shared a stylish photo on his Instagram page today featuring himself and Olamide, fueling excitements among fans at a possible collaboration.
The post quickly drew attention, not just for its visuals but for its suggestive caption.
“First time ever, me and @olamide. Formation. April 9,” Adekunle Gold wrote, strongly hinting that the two music stars may be working on a joint project.
Despite their prominence in the Nigerian music industry over the years and his time at YBNL record label, Adekunle Gold and Olamide have yet to release a song together, making the tease particularly significant for fans.
The mention of “first time ever” and the inclusion of a specific date have fueled speculation that a collaboration could be announced or released on April 9.
Fans have since taken to the comment section to express anticipation, with many eager to see how Adekunle Gold’s smooth, contemporary sound will blend with Olamide’s energetic street-hop style.
In Adekunle’s newsletter obtained by BlackBox Nigeria, “Formation” is an inspiration drawn from his struggle before breaking into the world of music and the path that led him to become global star with his debut Album “Gold” ranking 7th in global music chart at the time.
In his words, “in 2014, he heard one song… and that was enough. He gave me a chance when all I had was a dream and a voice, he took me out of the country for the first time in my life”. This statement reinforces the major influence Olamide played behind his rose to stardom.
Giving hints on the anticipated project, he says, “Formation is more than a song, it’s legacy and brotherhood. A reminder that wherever life takes us, we still share the same roots, the same spirit and the same love. To everyone who has carried YBNL in their hearts from day one until now.”
“This moment is ours”, he concluded.
