Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold has cancelled his scheduled performance at Music City Central, citing organisers’ failure to meet key obligations and the venue’s lack of readiness.
In a statement shared on his official page on the day of the event, the singer said the conditions at the venue made it impossible for his team to deliver the standard of performance fans expect from him. He described the decision as unfortunate but necessary.
“I won’t be performing at Music City Central today. Unfortunately, due to the organisers not meeting key agreed obligations and the event not being in a state that allows us deliver the kind of show you deserve, we can’t proceed,” Gold said.
The singer apologised to fans who had made plans to attend the concert, acknowledging their loyalty and enthusiasm.
“I know many of you made plans to see me, and I don’t take that for granted,” he added, thanking fans for their understanding.
Adekunle Gold assured fans that he remains committed to delivering quality performances and promised to provide updates on future shows through his official platforms.
“Thank you for your love and understanding. Please rely on my official pages for any further updates,” he said.
Meanwhile, Adekunle Gold is busy preparing for his upcoming Lagos show scheduled to hold at the newly renovated Wole Soyinka National Theatre.
