Addressing Domestic Violence: A Call to Action from the Human Rights Committee of the NBA Ikorodu Branch

In recent years, the issue of domestic violence has gained increased attention as a pressing concern affecting individuals and families in our society. It is imperative that we, as a community, take a stand against domestic violence and provide support to those who may be experiencing such situations. This article serves as a call to action from the office of the Vice Chairman of the NBA Ikorodu Branch, with a focus on addressing domestic violence within the Ikorodu jurisdiction.

Domestic violence, in its various forms, poses a serious threat to the well-being and safety of individuals, particularly women and children who are disproportionately affected. It is a violation of human rights and goes against the principles of justice and equality that we uphold in our society. As advocates for justice and the rule of law, it is incumbent upon us to address this issue and ensure that survivors receive the support and protection they deserve.

We urge the general public residing within the Ikorodu jurisdiction to seek assistance if they are experiencing domestic violence or know someone who is. Our branch has established a dedicated Domestic Violence, child rights and Persons living with Disability Protection Unit situated within the court premises of Ita-Elewa, Ikorodu, to provide support and assistance to individuals facing domestic violence situations.

Through our Domestic Violence Child’s Rights and persons living with Disability Protection Unit, we aim to empower survivors, raise awareness about their rights, and facilitate access to legal resources and support services. We are committed to working collaboratively with law enforcement agencies, government bodies, and other stakeholders to combat domestic violence and ensure that perpetrators are held accountable for their actions.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, do not hesitate to contact the Domestic Violence and Child’s Rights protection Unit at NBA Ikorodu Branch. Your safety and well-being are of paramount importance, and we are here to assist you in any way we can.

Together, let us take a stand against domestic violence and create a community where all individuals are treated with respect, dignity, and equality. By working together, we can make a difference and build a safer and more supportive environment for all residents within the Ikorodu jurisdiction.
