Management of Prime Care Hospitals has strongly denied circulating reports that popular social media content creator Mukoro Mitchelle, widely known as King Mitchy, died at its Abuja facility.
The clarification comes amid widespread confusion online after viral posts claimed the influencer had passed away following an alleged taking of harmful substance called sniper.
In an official statement posted on its verified Instagram page on Saturday, the hospital described the reports as completely false and misleading.
According to the post, King Mitchy was never admitted to its premises and did not die there.
“The management of Prime Care Hospitals wishes to inform the public that the announcement of the alleged death of Miss Mukoro Mitchelle, popularly known as King Mitchy, at our facility in Abuja is FALSE,” the statement read in part.
“King Mitchy was never a patient in our hospital and did not pass away here.”
The hospital said it is now working with relevant authorities to trace the source of the misinformation and will pursue legal action against anyone found responsible for spreading the unverified claims.
It also urged members of the public to verify sensitive information through official channels before sharing online.
The clarification follows viral posts that reportedly came from King Mitchy’s management social media accounts, claiming she had ingested a harmful substance including bleach or hypo during a TikTok live session and was rushed to Prime Care Hospital, where she later died.
Those posts prompted widespread concern among her followers.
Another narrative linking the claims to a social media feud involving activist VeryDarkMan and public figure Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, further fuelled online speculation.
However, the hospital dismissal clearly states there was no medical record of her ever being treated at the facility.
Since the statement was released, many Nigerians have expressed relief, while others have criticised how rapidly unverified claims about a person’s health can spread on social platforms.
At the time of publishing, neither King Mitchy’s family nor her management have issued a separate statement confirming her health status following the controversy.
