“A proud moment for LASU” -Alumni body celebrate Tunji Disu’s elevation to Acting IGP

The Lagos State University (LASU) Alumni Association has congratulated Mr. Tunji Rilwan Disu on his appointment as Acting Inspector-General of Police, describing his elevation as a proud moment for the institution and its graduates.

This was contained in a statement obtained by BlackBox Nigeria, issued by its National President, Mr. Norrison Quackers (SAN), the association commended Disu’s dedication, professionalism and leadership in public service, noting that his academic training at LASU has equipped him for the demanding role.

Quackers highlighted Disu’s educational background in English Education, Public Administration, Criminology, Security and Legal Psychology, stating that the combination of disciplines reflects a strong foundation for effective policing and institutional reform.

“As you lead the Nigeria Police Force, we are confident your expertise will drive reforms, boost public trust and enhance service delivery,” the statement read.

The alumni body described the appointment as a testament to LASU’s contribution to national development, adding that the university continues to produce graduates capable of shaping key institutions across the country.

The association also wished the new police chief wisdom, courage and success in steering the affairs of the Nigeria Police Force.

The statement reinforces the academic excellence of the institution by “We are LASU, We are Great,” the statement concluded.
