By 95% of Lagos rapists perpetuate the evil acts during weekend afternoons -LASG
Lagos State Government has revealed that most sexual assault cases are carried out in the afternoon of weekends, BlackBox Nigeria can report.
According to the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State, Adeniji Kazeem, 95% of rapists in Lagos are individuals known to the victims and they carry out the acts during the weekends.
Adeniji Kazeem who doubles as the chairman, Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team, DSVRT made this revelation recently at a media parley iñ Ikeja.
According to him, 60 defilement cases, 30 rape cases, 11 attempted rape among others were reported between January and September 2017.
He further disclosed that these revelations have necessitated the need to embark on sensitization campaigns for parents on parenting skills and child abuse prevention tips as well as training for children on child’s rights, child abuse, safety and how to preserve evidence.
