Fresh PDP Reunites With PDP Ahead Of 2019 General Elections
A faction of the People’s Democratic Party simply known as ‘Fresh PDP’ has agreed to collapse back into the main party in preparation for the 2019 General Elections.
It will be recalled that some aggrieved members of the main opposition party formed the ‘Fresh PDP’ late 2017 as theu nullified the December 9th National Convention which brought in Uche Secondus as the National Chairman of the party.
Speaking with the press in Abuja, Mr Olukayode Akindele, the leader of the faction disclosed that his members were ready to move back into the mainstream of the party. He made this known after meeting with Okwesillieze Nwodo, a former National Chairman of the PDP.
Akindele noted that the decision of the aggrieved members was in the interest of Nigeria and 2019 General Elections.
He said, “I am delighted to tell you that we have collapsed into the mainstream PDP. We have assurances from our leaders and the we will not have a parallel NWC Monday.”
The party’s chieftain, Nwodo also disclosed that the reconciliation with the ‘Fresh PDP” was reached with the knowledge of the Board of Trustees (BoT), the National Working Committee and other rmajor organs of the party. He said the reconciliation was needed as it otherwise would have made some members to leave the party. He said the party has learnt its lessons and coming back more prepared and resolute to change the fortunes of the country.
