5000 Pupils Benefit As LiRA Foundation Gifts Back-To-School Packages in Lagos

It was season of excitement in Bariga area of Lagos State on Saturday, September 10th, 2022, as LiRA Foundation ably led by its convener, Lijirin Ruth Ayomide, embarked on Season 3 of its Yearly ‘Back-To-School’ Programme in Ladilak Primary School, Bariga.

In an endeavour to give back to the society, with unrestrained efforts to ease parents’ burden during this resumption period, the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) set tongues wagging with the distribution of school materials to over 5000 beneficiaries.

According to the pioneer, who hailed from Bariga Local Council, she recounted the NGO’s previous encounters and further commended the essential support of her dedicated team, Mr Babajide Sanwoolu (Grand Host & Governor of Lagos), Hon. Kolade Alabi (Chief Host & ALGON Chairman), Senator Adetokunbo Abiru (Lagos East Senatorial District), Chief Mrs Folashade Ojo (Iyaloja General), Oba Babatunde Saliu (Oloworo of Oworo Land), Rev. Esther Ajayi (Founder, Love of Christ Generation Church of Nigeria) and others.

“The journey so far hasn’t been an easy one to come by, but we solely believed in the mantra ‘Never Give Up’. The 2019 edition was superb, 2021 was indeed a success story.”

 

“The synergy of our vibrant, diligent, intelligent and result-oriented team, rejigged their individual responsibilities to make this 3rd edition a reality. I’m so much proud of our sponsors, collaborators, parents and the future leaders. God bless you all.” she stated.

In no order of preference, pupils and students who thronged the venue were wowed with back-to-school kits, viz, School Bags, Food Flasks, Pairs of Unisex Sandals; Exercise books & Text Books, 1000ml Reusable Water-Bottles and Nourishments. Meanwhile, random selected participants were engaged on Spelling Bee & Quiz Competitions and September-borns were celebrated at interval.

 

Likewise, the beneficiaries of the 2022 Information and Communications Technology (ICT) training, received their certificates in the midst of their guardians, having been up-skilled intensively at Ruthowen Nigeria Limited (7, Albert Street Palm Grove, Somolu) beyond a calendar month.

The educational-driven quest to revive the act of humanitarian services, as displayed by Lijirin-led foundation, featured her lovely mother, Mrs Lijirin Beatrice, SP Eburuaja G. (DCO, Pedro Police Station), Mr BULUS (Office Manager, CMS Police Station), Lagos Youths for Sanwoolu and youths from 3 senatorial districts in Lagos State.

 

The programme also captured the significant presence of various representatives from the convener’s hood, among were, Hon. Adebomojo Oluwatoyin (Chief of Staff), Hon. Wasiu Balogun (Ward B Legislator), Hon. Sodiq Jamiu and Hon Modiu Olatilewa (Supervisors for Education & Health respectively); Alhaji Al-Imam Akorede ‘DanAzeez’ Lukman, Hon. Okeowo Nureni (APC LGA Youth Leader), Mrs Funmilayo Ayodele a.k.a Bombay, ALGON vocalists, Bariga TV and many more.
